Meet Our Staff

Bishop Walter & First Lady Judy Harvey

I consider it a privilege and am very humbled to be the senior pastor at POAG for over 25 years now. As I look back over the past, my success has not been my own but ours together as a church and from seeing a people raised up who hear the word of God and discern the voice of God for themselves, so that when we leave the church building after a worship service, we now go to serve our city and world.

I absolutely love MKE and the people in it. I am a son of the city.  My dream for the future is “As we seek to pastor our city God is pastoring this church.”   I hope you come and join us.

Marcus Arrington, Pastor

Dr. Marcus L. Arrington is an ecclesial leader and educator with over 17 years of experience as a teacher and school-level administrator in high-need urban schools. Dr. Arrington has a desire to encourage and equip youths and adults to transform their lives and their communities through faith, hope, and love. Dr. Arrington has authored two additional books: Young, Anointed and Empowered (2011) and The African Presence in the Bible for Children (2013). More important than any of his accomplishments, Dr. Arrington is a dedicated husband and father.

Theresa Jones, Chief Ministry Operations Officer

At PAOG, I have the honor of serving as the leader for both ministry and business operations for the church. This role allows me to use my natural gifts in the areas of administration, leadership, strategic planning and organizational development.

Additionally, I also have the awesome opportunity to utilize my spiritual gifts and love of serving and care for members and guests through creating and supporting the numerous events and services that we provide at Parklawn. I serve because I love God and love this church!

Our belief in the PRISM vision and our love and care for community by shining the light, life and love of Jesus in our everyday lives are key principles that I live by and that guide all that I do.

Sonia English, Pastor

Worship: I serve alongside my husband as the co-pastor of the worship arts ministry. I have always had a heart for worship. I have faced many challenges in life, but always found comfort in my worship time with the Lord. As a teen, I prayed that God believed that God would use me to be an encouragement to others through music. And now, I am so honored to now be able to serve God and his people through worship here at Parklawn!

SUM-MKE: Becoming an advisor of Milwaukee’s cohort of SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary has been a new and exciting role for me. Being able to combine my experience in teaching and ministry, along with my passion to help others find and pursue their calling is a such a blessing. I love watching student’s spiritual growth and how God prepares them for their purpose.

Jason Mims, Family Life Pastor

God has given me a passion for family and relationship building. Being a part of my men’s life group helped me to discover that it is through my authentic relationships and loving others that people are drawn to Christ.

As the Family Life Pastor, my goal is to encourage and equip every man, woman and child to fulfill their role within the body of Christ because each member is critical to the health and function of the body. The equipping is acquired through the building of authentic relationships.

God has not designed us to be on an island but to do life together as we are stronger together than we are apart, and it is through loving others and the health of our relationships that determines how effectively we reach our God given destiny and fulfill God’s purpose on the Earth.
