Dr. Arrington- Promise Keeper

Psalm 105:42 “For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.”

In a season of uncertainty and many shifts and changes, it’s important to have an anchor. For some their anchor is family or a significant other. Stocks and bonds give others security. It varies from person to person.

I think of a ship on the water. The waves are constantly moving and at times battering sides of the vessel. Maritime winds gently or ferociously blow. Sails help provide strength to determine direction. But, there’s nothing like an anchor to help to provide stability amid relentless change.

God’s promises are an anchor for us. They keep us grounded and steady. Psalm 91:4 (NLT) states that God’s promises are our armor and protection. When things become crazy, those who adhere to and lean on God’s promises are shielded from the worldly elements that threaten our sanity and peace.

Plainly stated, we don’t have to panic because of the pandemic or wacky politics. Consider the faithfulness of God this year. Has He kept you? Has He provided? It’s because He remembers His promises.

Have no fear my friends, God hasn’t forgotten His Word. He watches over it to perform it (Jer. 1:12). Pray the Word. Believe the Word. Speak the Word. It will come to pass!
